Yo-Yo Ma

The preeminent cellist needs no introduction. Working on this project has been one of the highlights of my career, so far.

The identity was meant to emit the warmth and generosity he conveys as a human-being and the sophistication and beauty he brings to his music. Mr. Ma often talks about the Edge Effect, the diversity of life that occurs where two natural environments intersect, and how it can also been seen in culture. His visual identity is an exploration of his work as both citizen and musician.

I left Simple Honest Work in the middle of this project and the visual identity ended up going in a different direction than what you see below.
